V.O. Ables, 90, of North Little Rock, passed away July 24, 2013. He was born in Humphrey to Robert E. and Letha Priest Ables and was a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Rose City. He was a U.S. Navy and Air Force veteran. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Odessa McGinty Ables; sons, Ronald Ables (Becki) of Paron and Barry Ables of North Little Rock; five grandchildren, Jeremy Ables (Sarah) and Jason Ables (Jamie) of North Little Rock, Amanda Ables and Selina Smith, both of Arkadelphia and Gabe Slade of Johnson City, Tennessee; and five great-grandchildren, Carter, Margo, Travon, Hudson and Ella Ables. Visitation will be this evening, Friday, July 26 from 6-8 p.m. at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Rose City. Services will be Saturday, July 27 at 10 a.m. at the church, officiated by Rev. Rick Etheridge. Interment with Military Honors will follow at 1 p.m. at Frazier Cemetery in Alcorn, Arkansas. Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Children's Hospital Foundation, #1 Children's Way, Little Rock, Ark. 72202.
