Wynelle Akin, 89 of North Little Rock passed away Sunday June 16, 2013 with her loving family and caretakers by her side. She was born in 1923 in Linden, Texas to the late Thomas Garfield & Lavinia Sadine Williams. She retired from the Missouri Pacific/Union Pacific railroad after 40 years of service. She was a member of the National Association of Railway Business Women where she held various local & national offices. She was a member of Lakewood United Methodist Church where she was a faithful member of the Steeple Team. She volunteered for many years for Care Link delivering Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed traveling, reading, crossword puzzles, and watching Razorback sports. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, T.G. Williams, sister, Josephine Williams and loving husband William Lee Akin Jr. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Akin of Little Rock, a son, Thomas Akin of Little Rock and granddaughter, Laura Akin of Fayetteville. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 19, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills in North Little Rock. A Celebration of her life will be at 10 a.m Thursday at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills with graveside services to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Alexander.
