Earnest Lloyd Forrest, 85, of Monticello, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at Drew Memorial Hospital from liver failure that he battled for 12 years. He was born November 5, 1927 in Drew County. He was a self employed Electrical Contractor, U. S. Army Veteran of WW II, a 32nd Degree Mason, belonging to Local Lodge Eureka 40 and was a member of Pauline Missionary Baptist Church and attended Rose Hill Free Will Baptist Church with his family. He was the son of the late Frank E. Forrest and Pearl Dodson Forrest and was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. He was a wonderful father, grandfather and brother. He loved fishing, hunting and his favorite thing to do, was to drive a tractor, bailing hay and taking care of his cattle. He never met a stranger and never forgot your name. Survivors include one son, Jackie Forrest and wife, Donna, granddaughter, Sheigh Forrest, great-granddaughter, Piper, granddaughter, Jenna Cater and husband, Nick, great-grandson, Gage, all of Monticello; two daughters, Sherry Gilbert and husband, Wayne, of Little Rock, granddaughter, Lindsey Bohler and husband, Jason, great-granddaughter, Payton Elizabeth, great-grandson, Dylan, of Crossett and granddaughter, Courtney Gilbert of Little Rock, Donna Bradley and husband, Herbert, of Monticello, granddaughter, Kimberly Caldwell and husband, Keith, of Monticello, great-granddaughter, Lauren Crutchfield and husband, David, of Star City, great-grandson, Will Crutchfield of Star City, granddaughter, Kati Beth Wilson and husband, Daniel, of Ft. Worth, Texas, great-grandson, Bradley Caldwell, granddaughter, Ashley Fenton, great-grandson, Austin Fenton, and great-granddaughter, Savannah Fenton, all of Monticello; two sisters, Sue Cattles of Laramie, Wyo. and Lucille Protak of New Castle, Del. A special thank you to Baptist Medical Center Radiology Clinic and to Dr. Paul Williams and Dr. James Morris and his staff, Dr. Michael Fakouri and his staff, and Drew Memorial Hospital Staff for their kindness during our dad's illness. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Rose Hill Free Will Baptist Church with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
