Harry Scott Dace

Harry Scott (Scotty) Dace of El Paso Arkansas, died Monday, May 13th, 2013 at the Conway Regional Health Center. He was 81. Born July 14, 1931 he was the third son born to Harry and Harriett (Bond) Dace of Little Rock. In recent years he had been a farmer. Previously he worked for Orgill Brothers Arkansas Company as service manager. Scotty was a graduate of Robinson High School in Pulaski County. He attended what was then Little Rock Junior College and graduated from Draughon's School of Business and Electronics. He was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves during the 1950's. Scotty was active in meetings regarding cattle and always was attempting to raise a good and healthy herd. He loved his farm and his family. He became a Christian at a young age and until his health failed, he attended Park Hill Baptist Church. He was an avid supporter of the Billy Graham Ministries. Scotty is survived by one brother, Sam (Judy) Dace of Conway and one sister, Judith Dace Rogers of Clinton, Missouri. In addition he leaves eight nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and nephews. Because he had no children of his own, he was a special uncle to his nieces and nephews, always having time to visit, pitch horseshoes or tell tales. Preceding him in death were his parents, Harry Foster Dace and Harriett (Bond) Dace of Little Rock, two brothers, Donald Dace of Heber Springs and Douglas Dace of Beebe, and two nieces. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday May 17th, 2013 at Griffin Leggett-Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock( 501) 835-3515, with inurnment to follow in the Griffin Leggett-Rest Hills Memorial Park, where he will be laid to rest next to his parents.
