Claude Lee "Butch" Bennett Jr. who friends and family called Butch, passed away early morning on Monday, May 20, 2013. He was born in Little Rock on February 23, 1945 to the late Claude L. Onie Mae (Golden) Bennett of Little Rock. He loved life and loved the freedoms of America. He loved to ride motorcycles and put a lot of time into fixing up his motorcycle. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also knew the Lord Jesus Christ. He loved life and was glad he got to know his children better in the end of his life. He was a Vietnam War veteran, serving in the US Navy from 1963-67 on the USS Graffis. Butch is survived by children, Charles "Chuck" Rook and wife, Michele of Little Rock and Rachel Slate and husband Paul of Benton; twin sister, Claudine Dillman and husband George of Cody, Wyo. and sister, Julia Reynolds and husband Bobby of Little Rock; grandchildren, Samantha Shellnutt, Jonathan Shellnutt, and Katherine Rook all of Benton; aunt, Jean Jeans of Blevins; and numerous cousins and friends. Gravesides service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 24, 2013 at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 1501 W. Maryland Ave., NLR, with Bro. David Harris officiating.
