Janice Carol Nelson Dixon, 75, of Cumming, Georgia, died Monday, May 20th at the Cumming Nursing Center. She was a long time resident of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She was born June 24, 1937 at Cushman, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Arlden Guy Nelson and Ruby Blue Nelson. Janice was reared at Batesville, Arkansas and graduated from Batesville High School. She attended A.S.T.C., now the University of Central Arkansas at Conway and was a member of Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority. She was a cheerleader at A.S.T.C. and was a White Rose Sweetheart for the Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity. She retired from the Pine Bluff School District in 2001. She was a Methodist. Janice was preceded in death by a son, Richard Guy Dixon. Survivors include a son, Joel Steven Dixon and wife, Pam of Little Rock, Arkansas; daughter, Janice Diane Key and husband, Richard of Milton, Georgia; and 4 grandchildren, Ashlyn Carol Key, Cassidy Marie Key, Lindsey Hosford, and Marc Hosford. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 24, 2013 in the Chapel at Ralph Robinson and Son in Pine Bluff, Arkansas with Reverend Pam Estes officiating. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Robinson's. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Memorials can be made to the Crossroads Hospice Charitable Foundation, 10810 E. 45th Street, Suite 300, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74146 in memory of Janice Dixon.
