Virgil "Chic" Williams, Jr., 84, of Perryville, left this life November 27, 2013. He was born December 5, 1928 in Naylor, Arkansas. Preceded in death are his parents Virgie Arnett Williams and Virgil Williams, Sr. and a brother Bobby (Cotton) Williams. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Peggy Bennett Williams; daughter, Donna Kincaid; son, Billy G. Williams; son, Robert and Kathy Williams; sister, Jean Hoffman; six grandchildren, April Scott, Mary Barber, Peggy Sue Patton, Matthew Kincaid, Ray Williams, and Katelyn Williams; and three great-grandsons, Ethan Lane Scott, James Virgil Kincaid, and Max Virgil Patton. Mr. Williams joined the US Navy at age 17 and served in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. He retired from the Navy after 21 years as a Chief Master Diver. He was a business man and a cattle farmer in Perryville where he served on the Board of Cattlemen's Association, the Industrial Park, the Cherry Hill Water facilities, and the Equalization Board. Mr. Williams was a Mason and the Baptist faith. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, November 30 at the First Baptist Church of Perryville with Buddy Wroten officiating. Burial will be at Cherry Hill Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. The family hour will be one hour prior to service at the Church. Online guestbook: www.harrisfuneralhomes.net.
