John B. Peebles, age 79, died Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Norman Regional Hospital, due to complications from injuries suffered 3 weeks earlier in an auto accident. He was born November 7, 1933 in Camden, S.C. to David Peter (Pete) and Helen C. (Baker) Peebles. He grew up in Camden and was a graduate of Camden High School. In early adulthood, he worked a short while for DuPont Chemical Co. before working in the textile industry at Jaclyn Hosiery Mill. He then sold insurance and later pursued his passion as a master cabinet maker. In 1963 he moved his family to Little Rock, Ark. where he devoted his career to cabinet making and the installation of school fixtures and equipment. In 1978 he moved to Oklahoma City continuing in woodworking and cabinetry. John was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary Wilson Peebles, a sister, Mary Helen Peebles and a brother, Lee Peebles. Survivors include one son, John Peebles and wife, Margie, of Oklahoma City; three daughters Lyn Ferguson and husband, Mike of Tequcigalpa, Honduras, Kim Livingston and husband, Richard, of Lake Village, Ark. and Michi and Tom Neumann of Blanchard, 10 grandchildren, as well as 17 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers; David Peebles and Larry Peebles, and four sisters; Judy Wagener, Linda Lindsey, Deborah Sellers and Kathy Hall of South Carolina. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 in the Chapel of The Good Shepherd at McNeil's Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, Okla..
