Alice J. Love

Alice J. Love, 83, Kansas City, Kan., passed away Sunday, August 10, 2014, after a long battle with cancer. Alice was born September 10, 1930, Little Rock, Ark. the daughter of Louis Carl and Margaret Chrysenthia (Peitz) Muller. The Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m., Thursday, August 14, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 3024 N. 53rd St, Kansas City, Kan, 66104. Visitation is Wednesday, Aug. 13, 5-7 p.m., at Skradski Funeral Home, 340 N. 6th St., Kansas City, Kan. 66101, where a rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Private inurnment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Kansas City, Kan., at a later date. She graduated from Mount St. Mary's, Little Rock, Ark. in 1948 and earned her BS degree in Education from The University of St. Mary's in Leavenworth, Kan, in 1977. She taught at St. John the Baptist and Christ the King Catholic Schools and later was a substitute teacher for USD 500. While she enjoyed teaching, her real passion was her family, church and community. She served in many volunteer capacities, including the Cub Scouts, the Nocturnal Adoration Society, Altar Society, and daughters of Isabella. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard J. Love, her parents, brothers, Louis Jr., Robert, Frederick, Peter, Armour, and sisters Margaret Muller, Anna Collins, and Mary Dicklow. She is survived by son John Love (Chau), San Jose, Calif., daughters, Katherine Butner (Troy), and Deborah Jonscher (Raymond), five grandchildren, Kelly and Raymond Jonscher Jr., Amanda McQuitty, (Donnie), Ashley Williams (Chris), Jeremiah Butner, and great-grandson, Deighton McQuitty, all of Kansas City, Kan.
