Imogene Paschall SimpsonAltheimer, AR, 1934 - 2014
Imogene Paschall Simpson of Altheimer, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at the age of 80. She was born April 18, 1934 in Wilmar, Arkansas, the daughter of Morris and Vera White Paschall. Mrs. Simpson was reared in Warren and Pine Bluff and received her early education in Watson Chapel, graduating from Watson Chapel High School. She worked at Simmons First National Bank early in her career, and later held many bookkeeping positions in Pine Bluff and Altheimer.
Mrs. Simpson was a long-time member of Altheimer United Methodist Church where she has served as President of UMW, a choir member, and church treasurer. Having a beautiful alto voice and loving to sing, she was asked to sing quite often at worship, either as soloist or in a duet with her husband, Joe. She also sang for many occasions in Pine Bluff, all through her early adulthood to recent past. She was active in and enjoyed many activities in Pine Bluff including PEO and DAR.
Always a lady of great faith, she was strength for any one who knew her and much loved by so many. She adored her family, adored a multitude of friends, and especially adored her two grandchildren. She was a true servant of Christ, always placing others first.
Mrs. Simpson was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Joe Don Paschall of Waco, Texas. Survivors include her husband, Joe Simpson, whom she married June 21, 1957 in Pine Bluff; a daughter, Rene Leus and her husband Jim, of Altheimer, a brother, Morris Paschall and his wife Earline of Waxahachie, Texas, two sisters, Mina Carlisle of Dothan, Alabama and Charlotte Sumner of Altheimer; and grandchildren, Paschall Leus and his wife, Charlene, and Christian Leus.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, December 13, 2014 in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Reverend Fred Arnold officiating. Burial will follow in Flat Bayou Cemetery.
