Vickie Lee Harrison Kivell, born May 10, 1955 in Tulsa, Okla. to Jeannine and Jimmy Harrison and raised in Shreveport, La., passed away with her family on December 16, 2014. Vickie graduated from Captain Shreve High School in Shreveport where she was voted Class Favorite and Friendliest Senior Gal. She also was a cheerleader, in Girls State, vice President of the "Z" club, and Editor of the school newspaper. She was voted best All-Around Athlete and a member of the 1973 State Champion Tennis team with her doubles partner, Judy Wells. She attended Louisiana Tech were she played on the Women's Tennis team and was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority. She graduated from LSU-Shreveport with a degree in Criminal justice and was in the first graduating class to graduate a woman. Vickie loved family, friends and life in general. She was a tennis pro for ten years, teaching at Piermont Oaks and the City of Shreveport, then worked in banking for seven years. She met the love of her life, Larry Kivell, while working at Commercial National Bank in Shreveport. They married on July, 5, 1979 and had two wonderful sons, William David Kivell and Kelly Gladden Kivell, and an amazing daughter-in-law, Jessica Hulett Kivell. Vickie was preceded in death by her parents and survived by her husband, Larry Kivell; sons, William David Kivell and wife, Jessica, and Kelly Gladden Kivell, all of Little Rock; sisters and brothers, Valerie Harrison Woolbert (Mike)and Mark Harrison (Pat) of Shreveport, La., Pattie Harrison Adams of Orange Beach, Ala. and Pat Harrison (Susie) of Bradenton, Fla., as well as John Kavanaugh of Bossier City, La. and Lynn Rankin of Springdale, Ark.; Uncle Frank Behanick and Aunt Patricia Behanick of Longview, Texas and many nieces, nephews, and cousins, all whom she loved dearly. She wanted to thank her wonderful Doctors and Nurses, Dr. Joseph Beck and Karen Oliver, Marilyn, Ronnie, Pat and Erica as well as Dr. Lee Raley. Also a big thank you to the Knights of Columbus at Christ the King Catholic Church for all their love and support and prayers, and the Lowery and Ruthven families for their unwavering support through this hard time. Visitation will be Friday, December 19th, from 5-7 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd). The graveside service will be Monday, December 22 at 10 a.m. at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Rd., Shreveport, La., officiated by Father Charles Glorioso. Her last wish was for her terrific family and friends to celebrate her life. No tears please, as she had a wonderful life, she will see you all in Heaven.
