On December 28, 2014, an extraordinary thing happened. The pearly gates opened and in danced a turbo charged red head named Gladys Irene Hodge. She was greeted by her savior, Jesus, her parents, Alfred and Dorothy Kyzer Lunsford, her husband of 47 years, Murry Edward Hodge, her constant companion for over 23 years, John A. Phillips, and her great-granddaughter, Quincy Allen. Gladys was born on October 2, 1925. She leaves behind two daughters: Helen Thomas (Walker) of Benton, Linda Grant, of North Little Rock; two sons, Mark Hodge (Patty) and Don Hodge, both of North Little Rock; and had 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Gladys was a homemaker and she welcomed everyone who entered her home. Strangers were just friends she hadn't met yet. She genuinely loved people and saw the good in everyone. She was known for her cooking, gardening, dancing and laugh which reflected her love of life. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd., North Little Rock, Ark. 72116 (501-791-7400) from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, December 30, 2014. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 1:30 p.m.at the funeral home with interment at Pinecrest Memorial Park, Alexander, Arkansas.
