William C. Green

After a valiant battle with cancer, William C. Green of Little Rock, passed away on December 28 at age 78. He was born April 27, 1936 in Salina, Kansas to Clarence F. Green and Alice Brown Green. Due to the death of his mother when he was four years old, he was reared by his maternal grandmother, Rose Townsend and her husband Eli Townsend. He graduated from Salina High School. He served his country in the Kansas National Guard and the United States Navy. On April 17, 1960, he married the love of his life, Adalene Spence, in Little Rock. He was a loving husband and a doting father. He was employed by F.W. Woolworth Stores, SCM Corporation, Burns International and retired from Windsor Door Inc. in 1998. He was a long time active member of the Sixth & Izard Church of Christ (now Windsong Church of Christ), serving as Bible teacher, Junior Dept. Supervisor and Deacon. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He enjoyed woodworking and working with leather. He loved amusement parks, especially the roller coasters at Silver Dollar City in Branson, Mo. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his parents, his sister, Nancy Cairns and his stepmother, Mabel Green. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, two daughters, Shelli Niblock and her husband, Greg of Searcy, Ark.; Julie Priest and her husband Jason of Mabelvale, Ark., six grandchildren, Brittney Niblock Yarbrough and her husband Tim, Barrett Niblock, and Braden Niblock and his wife Hillary, all from Searcy, Ark., Kennedy Priest, Zachary Priest and Dyllan Isabella Priest of Mabelvale, Ark.; two sisters, Patsy Burrows and her husband William and Rosemary Hixenbaugh both of Salina, Kansas; a brother-in-law, Robert Spence and his wife Doris of Mt. Pleasant, Ark. and a sister-in-law, Katheryn Howard of Heber Springs, Ark., several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Friday, January 2, 2015 at Windsong Church of Christ, #3 Windsong Drive, North Little Rock, Arkansas, with Mr. John Gipson officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, January 2, 2015 from 11-12 noon at the Church. Entombment will be at Pinecrest Memorial Park Waterfall Mausoleum.
