Bernice Sullivan

Bernice Sullivan, 95, of Benton, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Saline Memorial Hospital with family by her side. She was born February 5, 1919 and celebrated her 95th birthday with cake and family. Bernice was the daughter of the late W.R. and Verda Moore. She was of the Baptist faith. Bernice and her husband, Hosie lived most of their married life in Texas, a state she loved. Bernice and her husband drove dump trucks in the Dallas area. She loved driving large trucks! They later retired and moved back to Benton to be near their family. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Hosie Sullivan, brothers, Homer and James Moore, sisters, Bertha Noakes, Oleta Standridge and Dimple Louallen. Survivors, sisters, Lona Balding, Dorothy Shelnutt, Alice LaPlant, Jean Gault, all of Benton, nieces, Faye and Karen and nephew, Phillip, all of whom took care of her these last several years; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Larry Stillman, Randy Brooks, Phillip Carter, Bradley Stillman, Jack Gault and John Paul Shelnutt. Chapel Services by Ashby Funeral Home will be 1 p.m. Saturday with visitation 12 noon until 1 p.m. before services. Burial will follow at New Rosemont Cemetery in Benton.
