Arber James, Jr.

Arber James, Jr. 70, of Little Rock departed this life February 21, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arber James Sr. and Queen Ester Shaddock; two brothers; one sister; two grandmothers; two grandfathers and one grandson, Derrick L. Floyd. He was a graduate of St. Bartholomew High School Little Rock, Arkansas in 1961. He graduated from Henderson and Ouachita College in Arkadelphia, Ark. in 1970. He was a retired major with the US Army after 33 years of service. He leaves to cherish his memories: his caregiver and wife of 43 years, Janice Hervey-James; daughters, Phyllis Johnson, Michelle Jones, Tonia James and Mia Jones; sons, Carlos James (Angie) and Phillip Spreads; brothers, Earl (Irene), Jack (Daisy) James; sister, Myra Durham (Gregory); six grandsons and three granddaughters. A celebration of his life will be Monday, March 3, 2014, 10:30 a.m., at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church #3, 2801 Springer Blvd, Little Rock, Ark., Pastor Cedric Payne officiating.
