Sadie Davis Johnson Williams, 87, of Little Rock, departed to her eternal home on Sunday, January 5, 2014, with her family surrounding her. She was born on February 12, 1926 in Jonesboro, Ark. to David Leslie Johnson and Madeline Markle Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, David Leslie Johnson Jr., her husband, Gerald Samuel Williams and her granddaughter, Leslie Carol Williams. She is survived by daughters, Susan Williams of North Little Rock, Carol A. Smith (Jim) of Little Rock and Lyn W. Sliger (Cork) of Grant, Iowa; son, Leslie J. Williams (Teresa) of Nashville, Tennessee; sister, Lucy Owen (Tom); brother, Jere Johnson (Loretta); six grandchildren, Chad Trickey (Heather), Ryan Davis, Amber Castleberry (Daniel), Candice Carter (Matt), Preston Williams and Caleb Williams; seven great-grandchildren, Braden Rudd, Owen and Gerald Trickey, Rylee Davis, Lucy, Lily and Luke Carter and many nieces and nephews. Sadie graduated from Little Rock High School in 1944, and married the love of her life, Gerald Williams in 1946. She dedicated her life to her husband and family, and together they shared a wonderful life of love and laughter. Sadie was a marvelous cook. Along with Gerald she enjoyed planting, nurturing, harvesting and serving up many delicious feasts for her large extended family in the warm country home lovingly built by the hands of her husband, son, family and friends. Visitation will be today, Tuesday, January 7 from 5-7 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.). Services will be Wednesday, January 8, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Reverend Rodney Shanner. Burial Service will follow at 12:30 p.m., at Harmony Cemetery in Perry County at Hwy. 10 and Williams Junction. We would like to thank Brittney and Shannon of Baptist Medical Center, ICU South, for their loving care and concern for our Mother.
