Roger Fouts

Roger Fouts, 53, of Little Rock passed away on Friday, January 3, 2014 at the Bowmen Hospice Care Center due to cancer. He was born on May 24, 1960 in Harlingen, Texas and is a 1978 graduate of the Arkansas School for the Blind. Roger married his high school sweetheart, Sandra F. Scott of England, Arkansas in 1979. They lived in Fort Smith for a short period of time then moved back to Little Rock where he worked on and off for approximately 25 years at the Arkansas Lighthouse for the Blind. Although Roger battled cancer most of his life, he was a great inspiration to everyone that knew him. He was greatly admired for his determination to be independent and take care of his wife and their dog, Easter. Although Easter was Sandy's guide dog, Roger loved to share his "peanut butter to go" with "daddy's little girl". Roger was preceded in death by his father, Richard Fouts, his step-father, William Shouse and his brother, Mark Alan Fouts. Survivors include his wife, Sandra Fouts of Little Rock, his mother, Mary Lou Rawline Shouse (William-deceased) of Hot Springs, a brother, John M. Fouts (Michelle) of Florida, a step-sister, Elizabeth Clayton of Oklahoma, his cousins Ron Watkins, Matt Clayton (Macee and son Addison) of Oklahoma, nephews, Jeth Fouts (Jodi) of Kansas and Paul Fouts of Colorado. Roger would also liked mentioned his mother-in-law, W. Irene Scott (Andrew-deceased) and four sisterd-in-law, Jackie Whittaker (George), and Judy Ricci (David) of Little Rock, Mary Ann Seal (John) of Redfield and Diane Risner (Donnie Joe-deceased) of Benton and his many other cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He also leaves their yellow Labrador, Easter, whom he loved very much. A celebration of life service will be held 2-4 p.m., January 18, 2014 in the Multi-Purpose room at the Arkansas School for the Blind in Little Rock.
