Margaret Ferren

Margaret Ferren, 88, of Pine Bluff, died Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. She was born October 15, 1925 in Unionville, Iowa, daughter of Charles and Verta Miller Traxler. Mrs. Ferren was reared and received her early education in Unionville, Iowa. She was married to William "Bill" Ferren on September 12, 1953, and they recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with family and friends. Mrs. Ferren worked as a legal secretary for a few years early in her marriage. Upon having children, she devoted her time to being a stay-at-home mom. She was a member of Watson Chapel Baptist Church of Pine Bluff where she was very involved in teaching Sunday school and other church activities before becoming ill. Margaret enjoyed sharing her faith with family and friends. She was a fine example of a Godly wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Mrs. Ferren was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Howard Traxler; brother, Joyce O. Traxler; and her sister, Oletha Hook. Survivors include her husband, William L. "Bill" Ferren; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Nikki Ferren of Pine Bluff; daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Sam Brock of Hot Springs; daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Dave Ferguson of Hot Springs. The "Jewels" on her crown are her seven grandchildren: Michael Ferren and his wife, Katie, of Little Rock; Sara Ferren of Memphis, Tennessee; Matthew Ferren and Katie Ferren of Pine Bluff; Will Ferguson, Josh Ferguson and Heather Ferguson, all of Hot Springs. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Friday, January 17, 2014 at Watson Chapel Baptist Church with Reverend Todd Howard and Reverend M.L. Faler officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Robinson's. The family will also receive friends Friday afternoon from 12:30 p.m. until service time at Watson Chapel Baptist Church.
