Keith L. Merckx Sr.

Keith L. Merckx Sr., 80, formerly of Little Rock and Mayflower, passed away Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, at his home in Norman, Okla. Born in Wisconsin and raised in Chicago, Mr. Merckx served in the Navy during the Korean War. He became an investment banker and in 1978 moved his family to Little Rock to join Stephens Inc., a company he loved and where he worked until retirement. He moved to Norman to be near his son, Keith Jr.; his wife, Barbara; and their daughter, Emily. He is also survived by daughters, Kim Allen (Randy) and Kristie Collins (Kevin); as well as grandchildren, Jenna, Jason, Gentry and Brooke; and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service is set for 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25 at Advent Lutheran Church in Conway. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Arkansas Foodbank in Little Rock.
