Allen R. Jacobs

Allen R. Jacobs, 87, passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital in Little Rock. He was born Marcy 30, 1927, in the Sunshine Community near Stuttgart to Edith Miller Jacobs and Harvey Allen Jacobs. He lived most of his live in Arkansas and Jefferson counties. He was a resident of Gunters Veterans Home in Vilonia and was a retired Army veteran and farmer. He was a Baptist. Allen was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters; his wife Elizabeth Broeks Jacobs whom he met and married while serving in the Army during World War II; his son, Jimmy Dale Jacobs; and two daughters, Sandy and Judy. Survivors are his daughter, Allene (Jim) Gibbs of Vilonia; sons, Douglas (Debbie) Jacobs of Stuttgart and Mike (Lou Anna) Jacobs of DeWitt; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Turpin Funeral Home in Stuttgart with funeral services, officiated by Dr. Sam Roberts, following at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Lone Tree Cemetery.
