W. Paul Herndon, 89, born February 4, 1925 in Many, Louisiana, died July 8, 2014 at Little Rock Veteran's Hospital. He was a resident of Little Rock since 1959 where he managed Hardy Shoe Store; Stein's Men's Clothing and finished his career at Phillips Store for Men. He served aboard the USS Mississippi during WWII. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lansford and Alice Herndon, seven siblings and two stepchildren. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Martha Herndon of Little Rock; son, Rodney Herndon of Hot Springs, daughters, Renee Herndon of Benton and Robbie Herndon of Jackson, La.; stepchildren, Lynn Beasley, Hot Springs, Emily Beasley, Watts Australia, Marty Degler, Little Rock, David Foster Hensley; grandchildren, Rory Herndon, Reagan Herndon, Christopher Beasley and Shea Foster and two great-grandsons, Ashton & Weston Herndon of Hot Springs. Visitation at Griffin, Leggett, Healy & Roth from 6 to 8 Thursday July 10th graveside services 10 a.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to loyal caregiver, Inez Garney and the staff of 5D and 6E at The Little Rock Veterans Hospital for the excellent care of our loved one. In lue of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice or the Altzheimers of Arkansas Association.
