George Arthur "G.A." Johnson Jr. age 63, of Reydell died Sunday, July 20, 2014. He was born March 7, 1951 in DeWitt to George Arthur and Mary Frances Burnett Johnson who preceded him in death. He was retired from the Corp of Engineers, was manager of Circle S Hunting Club, had a mowing service and served in the National Guard. He was a member of Reydell Baptist Church whose members supported him throughout his many years fight against cancer. Survivors include his wife, Jann Knight Johnson; daughter, Brooke Fountain (Thad) of Rockwall, Texas; step-son, Jonathan Tullis (Libby) of Leawood, Kan.; sisters, Dorothy Luebke and Reba Currie of DeWitt; uncle, Charles Burnett of DeWitt; grandchildren, Samuel and Caroline; along with nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 22 at Bayou Meto Cemetery by Essex Funeral Home, DeWitt. Visitation will be 6-8 Monday at the funeral home. essexfuneralhome.com.
