David L. Shewmaker

David L. Shewmaker, 53, of Bryant, Ark. went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 26, 2014. David was born in Paragould, Ark. on Nov. 4,1960 to W.T. and Neva Shewmaker. David graduated from Paragould High School in 1978 and received a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Arkansas State University. David's career as a software engineer spanned 32 years most recently with SAP of Walldorf, Germany. David is survived by his wife of 32 years, Becky Shewmaker of Bryant, Ark.; his son, Matthew Shewmaker and wife, Katie of Greenwood, Ark.; his daughter, Tara Shewmaker of Bryant, Ark.; his father and mother, W.T. and Neva Shewmaker of Paragould, Ark.; his brother, Tommy Shewmaker and wife, Mona, of Paragould, Ark. and his sister, Sarah Neighbors and husband, David, of Paragould, Ark. David is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family who loved him dearly. David was preceded in death by his sister, Carole Shewmaker of Paragould, Ark. A loving husband, son, and father, David was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Benton, Ark. During his time as a member, David served on numerous committees, taught Sunday School, and served as a youth leader. David was also an Eagle Scout, a member of the Order of the Arrow, and an avid supporter of the Boy Scouts of America. Throughout his life, David donated his time and resources to the betterment of young men through the Boy Scouts. A celebration of David's life will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church in Benton, Ark.
