ROSINA MARGARET SWAIN, 81, a lovely girl from Liverpool, England, died quietly on the evening of Tuesday, June 10. Known as Rene to family and close friends, her husband of 57 years demonstrated the love and dedication that marked their 57 years of marriage together as he held her hand tightly and said his goodbyes. Also present at her side as she began her journey with Our Lord were her four children, Karen Marie Delclos, Stephen John Swain, Paula Ann Swain, and Julie Christine Fitz. Rene possessed a uniquely strong will balanced by a devout Catholic faith and the kind of selfless love that allowed for any type of sacrifice for her children and grandchildren. The grandchildren who proudly called her Nanny include, Nicholas Delclos, father of Rene's first great-grandchild, Hayden with Chloe Carpenter and son of Karen and her husband Barry Delclos; Holly Delclos, daughter of Karen and Barry; Andrew and Jennifer Swain, son and daughter of Stephen and his wife Carol Swain; Paul Pacete, son of Paula; and Sullivan and Josie Fitz, son and daughter of Julie and her husband Chad Fitz. We will miss her sweet singing but find comfort in the knowledge that her faith allows her to join her angel voice with the brilliant chorus on the "high road" and that we will see her again in a place where there is no pain, "On the bonnie, bonnie banks o' Loch Lomond." A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 16, at Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church with Father Erik Pohlmeier, celebrant, followed by interment to honor her years as a military wife at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to CARTI. To sign the online guestbook, go to www.griffinleggetthealeyroth.com.
