Patricia Joyce Dove was born on August 7, 1932 in Omaha, Nebraska, daughter of our beloved Kathryn Dove. Patricia graduated as valedictorian in her class at Cambridge, Kansas. On February 14, 1951, Patricia met, on a blind date, the man that would eventually become her husband, Edward Belan Kiley, the cherished first born son of Pauline and Edward Kiley of Kismet, Kansas. They wed on July 26th1952 and had two daughters, Kathy Joyce and Mindy Leigh. Patricia and Edward lived in several locations after they were first married since Ed was in the Air Force. When Edward left active military service, they lived in Oklahoma, and later would settle in North Little Rock, Arkansas where they would live the remainder of their 61 years together. During their marriage, Patricia and Edward were given many blessings; the marriage of their daughter Mindy to Kevin Hal Caid, and the birth of two grandchildren, Katherine Jean Caid and Matthew Belan Caid. Patricia Kiley passed from this earth into God's hands on June 17th, 2014 with her family by her side. However, what do you know of Patricia? You know where she was born, that she was intelligent, that she married, had two children and two grandchildren, and was married to the same man for 61 years until her death. What you do not know is that Patricia's smile lit up a room. She loved to laugh, and the merriment showed through in the twinkle in her eyes. You would not know that she was so incredibly social that she would know people far and wide when she and Edward traveled, whether it was in Colorado or Italy. No one would be aware of the pleasure she took in being able to travel around the world….and travel she did, from Australia to Sweden to Russia and to Gibraltar. Whether on the back of a donkey on the island of Santorini, or on a camel in Morocco, she was there to experience everything the world had to offer. However, what the hard, cold facts would never relate was the undying love she had for her husband, her devotion to her two daughters, and the pride and adoration she felt for her beloved grandchildren. But above all else, was her love and faith in Christ. That love was deeply held and unwavering. Patricia knew she would be meeting her Lord as she passed from this life. We know Patricia is smiling from heaven and reveling in a life well lived. Patricia Kiley, you are loved by those whose lives you touched. You will always be missed. A visitation will be held from 11:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, June 20th, followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m., at North Little Rock Funeral Home. Burial will be held 10 a.m., Monday, June 23rd at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery. Online obituary at www.SmithFamilyCares.com.
