Carolyn Kay Land

Carolyn Kay Land, age 73 of Mabelvale, passed away on March 18, 2014. She was born on October 9, 1940 in Roland, Arkansas to her parents Roy and Leta Harris. Mrs. Land loved reading and listening to music and was a lifelong friend of Elvis, having actually met him and was fortunate enough to get to spend about an hour with him. She treasured being a Mom and a Meemaw and was a devoted housewife to her cherished husband. She was also a devoted Jehovah's Witness. Carolyn is survived by her son, Kenneth Land, of Bryant, her daughter, Lisa Land-Hughes and her husband Kyle of Longview, Texas. She is also survived by five grandchildren; Ashley Hughes, Cameron Bridges, Matthew Hughes, Jansen Hughes and Zach Hughes and her sister, Patricia Hurst, along with many nieces, nephews, friends and relatives who will cherish her memory. Mrs. Land is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Bud Land, along with one brother, Donald Harris and one sister, Brenda Izard.
