Jannell A. (Jannie) McElhanon-Stiles

Jannell A. (Jannie) McElhanon-Stiles of Terrell, Texas died at her home on November 17, 2014 at the age of 88. Jannie was born on December 11, 1925 in Dallas, Texas , the daughter of P.E. Moss and Mary Mildred (Curtis) Moss. She was the eldest of five sisters: Betty Salach, Dorthia Jackson, Roxy Madison and Debbie Quesenberry. Jannie married Ross McElhanon in 1946 and they lived in Farmers Branch until 1978 when they retired to Okolona, Arkansas where they lived until Ross, the love of her life, died in 1989. Jannie later married Wayne P Stiles and they lived in Terrell, Texas until Wayne's death in 2005. Jannie graduated from Grand Prairie High School after which she worked at North American setting airplane compasses during World War II. She was also a long time employee of American Motors Company which later became known as Chrysler Corporation. Jannie was a member of the Terrell Garden Club and the First United Methodist Church of Terrell where she stayed active and made many friends. Jannie is survived by her daughter, Cherie McClenny of Terrell and her son, Kelly Ross McElhanon (Marena) of Okolona, Arkansas; grandchildren: Erin Johnson (Phil), Jennifer Feaker (Russell), Leah McElhanon, Krystal Case and Chyna Crowley; great-grandchildren: Ashlyn, Max, Evie and Aubrey as well as several other nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of friends who loved her and will miss her dearly. A celebration of life will be held at the Okolona Community Center Okolona, Arkansas on Dec. 6th at 11 a.m. In Lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be sent to: Smyrna United Methodist Church, 3590 Hwy. 29 N, Hope, Arkansas.
