Myrtis Crook Morris

Myrtis Crook Morris was born, Jan. 13, 1919 in Rowell, Ark. to the late Marvin Estus Crook and Mary Frances Pennington Crook. She passed away peacefully on Nov. 26, 2014 at her home in Wilmot, Ark. Mrs. Morris is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; Ivan Oden Morris Sr.; her son, Ivan Oden Morris Jr.; granddaughter, Ellen Frances Morris; step-daughter, Billie Jean Everett and nine siblings. Myrtis was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wilmot. As long as her health allowed, she remained active in Sunday School and numerous church activities. She was an avid reader and had read through the Bible numerous times, studying the scriptures and possessing great knowledge and understanding of its teachings. Throughout her life, Myrtis was an industrious lady. She worked alongside her husband in the family's farming enterprises and found much enjoyment tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. Her love of flowers extended to her membership in numerous garden clubs and her national accreditation as a Master Flower Show Judge. Myrtis's greatest love on earth was the love and affection she had for her family and she will be fondly remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. "Give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate." Proverbs 31:31. Mrs. Morris is survived by her daughter-in-law, Daina Harp Morris; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Harp Morris and his wife, Jennifer, and Karen Morris Cooper and her husband, Bob. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren and two step-grandchildren, Debbie Williams and Don Everett. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Morris will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014 at the Wilmot Cemetery in Wilmot, Ark., with Bobby Foster and Rev. Molly McGee officiating.
