Mary Jane White

Mary Jane White, age 71, passed away in Fayetteville, Ark. on October 6, 2014. She was born in Monroe, La., on December 24, 1942, to Christine and Howard Young. Memorial services will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, October 11th at Central United Methodist Church in Fayetteville with Dr. Jack A. Wilson and Reverend J. Anthony Holifield officiating. Private burial will be held at Fayetteville National Cemetery. Mary Jane graduated from Neville High School and Northeast LA State College (ULM). She also received a masters degree from the University of Arkansas. She was an English teacher at Fayetteville High School for five years. She also worked in a number of secretarial positions. Mary Jane was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Jackson White and two sons: Chris Thorn (Kim) of Carrollton, Texas; and Larry White of Lafayette, Colo. She is also survived by three stepsons: Alan White of Lafayette, La.; Roger White (Patricia) of Louisville, Colo., and John White (Sonia) of Salt Lake City, Utah. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Cassie White, Tiffany Thorn Martin, Amanda White, Philip White, Blake Thorn, and London Thorn. She had two great-granddaughters, Layla of Austin, TX and Harmony of Texas. She is also survived by a brother William H. Young (Bernice), one niece and two nephews.
