Claude A. Griffin, 61, of Little Rock passed away Sunday, October 12, 2014. He was born March 24, 1953 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, son of the late Jesse G. (Bud) Griffin Jr. and Sara Taylor Griffin. He was reared and received his early education in Pine Bluff, graduating from Pine Bluff High School. He is a 1976 graduate of Hendrix College in Conway and also attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, Iowa State University, and the University of Houston for post-graduate studies. He was a retired Educator for the Aldine Independent School District near Houston, Texas. He taught thousands of high school students over a 31 year career the importance of English, History and Literature. He was especially fond of World History and toured Europe on many occasions with his students and family members. He also had a passion for the theatre, performing in numerous college and local reparatory productions. Survivors include three brothers, Jesse G. (Griff) Griffin, III (Nancy), Frank A. Griffin all of Little Rock and Jeffrey B. Griffin of San Francisco, California; a niece, Lauren Griffin McKay (Richard) and a nephew Jesse G. Griffin IV (Jane) and by his great nephew Jesse G. (Quinn) Griffin V; and special friends Gregory Douglas and Billy Senter. He is also survived by his loving Aunts, Uncles and many cousins. A Rosary Service will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church in Little Rock. Mass of Christian Burial will be at held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 17, 2014 at Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church in Little Rock with Father Tom Marks as celebrant.
