MINNIE LOUISE CORNELL, 75, of Little Rock left her earthly home on Oct. 22, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Leonard Palmer Hopkins and Iva Johnson Hopkins. Louise was preceded in death by her three brothers, Harold Clinton Rettig, Glen and Leonard Hopkins. Before retiring in 2001, she worked as a legal secretary for the State of Arkansas in the Worker's Compensation Department. Her previous work history included serving as secretary to the late Judge Frank Holt, Prosecuting Attorney for the Sixth Judicial District and Arkansas Attorney General, secretary to the late Carey Stabler, President of UALR and 24 plus years with the March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, David E. Cornell; two daughters, Kathy Nesselrotte (Jim) of Little Rock and Karen Myler (Steve) of Maumelle and two grandsons, Justin Taylor Nesselrotte and Kaden Cornell Myler. Also surviving, one sister-in-law, Betty Hopkins, of Little Rock and a host of nieces and nephews and friends. Louise loved music, flowers, reading, crafts and loved to write poems about her life, her family and friends. She had a great love of animals, big and small, including her dog, Cocobear. Louise also had a great love of people, old and young and made friends easily, no matter where she went. She was raised in the Christian faith and loved witnessing to others. Memorial may be made to the Arkansas Children's Hospital Foundation, P.O. Box 2222, Little Rock, AR 72203. Funeral services will be held at the Smith – North Little Rock Funeral Home at 1 p.m. on Tuesday. Burial will follow at Pine Crest Memorial Cemetery.
