William Campbell "Bill" Patton, 93, of Little Rock, died Saturday, October 25, 2014. Bill was born September 26, 1921 in Goodlettsville, Tenn., the son of Roy E. and Mollie Sprouse Patton. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Coast Guard and served on a destroyer escort. Bill worked over 35 years for Libby, McNeil, & Libby Foods and Allis-Cooper Brokerage Company until his retirement in 1982. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. He loved to fish, golf, and watch all kinds of sports on TV. He was an avid reader and loved to smoke his cigars and pipes. He never met a stranger and never said no to a good piece of pie. He was devoted to taking care of his wife of 57 years, Betty, until she passed at home from ALS in 1999. Survivors include two sons, William Patton Jr. and Tony (Rhonda) Patton, all of Little Rock; daughters, Ann Margerum (Bill) of Kirkland, Wash., and Cathy Brown (Chris) of Winter Haven, Fla., six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Wednesday, October 29, 2014 in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 W. 12th St., Little Rock (501) 661-9111 with Father Joseph Archibong officiating. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
