Ruth Naomi Landis Metzger

The family of Ruth Naomi Landis Metzger is celebrating the life of their mother who passed away in her sleep Monday, October 27, 2014 at the age of 98. Her professional life included teaching elementary students beginning in 1955 in the small town of Sidney, Indiana. She retired from Romine Elementary School in Little Rock in 1978. To her immediate and extended family she brought humor, discipline, and an optimism that remained with her until her last days on this earth. Her character has influenced three generations of family and friends, from her own peers, to her children and their peers, and finally to her grandchildren. For this we are all most thankful. The memorial service will be held Saturday, November 1 at 2 p.m. in the Grace Presbyterian Church, Little Rock. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heifer International or Arkansas Hospice Foundation.
