BERNICE EVELYN FLUGER, 93, of Little Rock, passed from this life Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014. She was born Sept. 22, 1920 in Maple Park, Chicago, Ill. to the late Art and Minnie Castenson. Bernice was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Horseshoe Bend, Ark. She had a passion for quilting and cherished her membership with the local quilting club. She also loved being a dairy farmer's wife, canning fruit and vegetables and selling vegetables at the local farmers market. Her family will treasure the fond memories they made over eating her homemade bread and butter, which was absolutely the best. She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Al; one daughter, Ingrid; her first husband, Harald Bach, married in 1941 and her second husband, James Fluger, married in 1971. She is survived by one son, Jim (Bobbi) Bach; one step-son, Greg (Penny) Fluger; one step-daughter, Bonnie Walker; eight grandchildren, Josh (Laura) Fluger, Kris (Julie) Fluger, Megan (Matt) Busch, Melissa, Jacob, Jim Walker, Catherine Knapp and Chris (Danielle) Bach and seven great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014 at the Roller-Chenal Funeral Home Chapel, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, AR 72211, (501) 224-8300.
