Judy Anne "Beppe" DeVries

JUDY ANNE "BEPPE" DEVRIES, 70, of Little Rock, went to heaven on Sept. 23, 2014. She was born and raised in Vermont by her parents, Margaret and Harold Richardson. After high school, she bravely answered John F. Kennedy's call to do more for her country. She joined the Peace Corps, serving in Tanzania and Libya. It marked a turning point in her life. While serving, she met James DeVries. They were married in Kenya on Aug. 16, 1969. Together their passion to help the world's poor and hungry would take them around the globe: China, Haiti, Tanzania and many more. She worked at Heifer International for more than 10 years lovingly answering donors' questions. Beppe is survived by her husband, three sons and four grandchildren. Eric and wife, Kristi; their children: Lauran, Tyler and Emma; Christian and wife, Sarah, and their son Alexander and Timothy DeVries, all of Little Rock, Ark. She is also survived by eight brothers and sisters. The memorial service will be at St. Andrew's Church, 8300 Kanis Rd., Little Rock, AR 72204, on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014 at 10 a.m., with a reception to follow.
