Opalene Kail, of Cedar Park, Texas, age 95, passed away April 27, 2015 after a brief illness. Opalene was born February 25, 1920 near Hackett, Arkansas, the second child of Ozy and Doshia Lee (Clark) Murphey. She married Theo Kail on December 4, 1938 in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Opalene was a loving wife and mother throughout her years and also worked outside the home as a secretary for Dr. Joseph Buchman, MD in Little Rock, Arkansas before becoming the founding Director of the Sixth and Izard Day School where she served for six years. She was also a noted lecturer and writer of Christian bible materials and was named the 20th Century Christian Woman of the Year in 1973. Opalene was preceded in death by her loving husband, Theo, of 65 years; her parents Ozy and Doshia Murphey; and her sister, Thelma (Murphey) Kingdon. She is survived by a brother, Ozy Murphey Jr. and his wife Jerri of Rogers, Arkansas. She is also survived by her four children Janet Kail, Jacksonville, Ark.; Benjamin (wife Jaydene) Mena, Ark.; David (wife Pamela), Springfield, Mo.; Karen Bedor (husband Louis), Cedar Park, Texas. She is survived by her six grandchildren, Carol Whitted-Ridgeway (Bill); Donna Sahlin; Lisa Selensky (Lawrence); Shawna Williams (Thayne); John Kail (Kate); and Jennifer Ames (Andrew) and great-grandchildren, Joseph Whitted, Julie Whitted Woods, Lauren and Lianna Selensky; Mason, Alexa and Kaylee Williams; Brett, Brandon and Brian Kail; and Emily and Allison Ames. She is survived by two great-great-grandchildren, Jordan and Jonah Woods. A memorial graveside service and burial will be held at the Pine Crest Memorial Park in Saline County, Arkansas at 10 a.m. on May 2, 2015.
