William (Bill) Edgar Laird, 72, of Little Rock, won his ultimate victory on August 13, 2015. He was born in Augusta, Arkansas, on April 1, 1943 to George and Evelyn Gauf Laird, and was a Church of Christ minister for 33 years and a coach for over 20 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, J.R., Lester, and Edward Lee, and sisters, Frances, Marie and Nora Lee. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kathleen Phillips Laird; daughter, Tammy Stafford of Little Rock; sons, Craig Laird (Tracy) of Farmington, Arkansas and Jerry Laird (Paula) of Searcy, Arkansas; brothers, J.L. (Jearl) of Warren, Michigan, and Dale (Teresa) of Bowling Green, Kentucky; sisters, Ruby of Carthage, Texas, OmaLee of Marshall, Texas, Sue (Winford) of Searcy, Glenda (Tom) of Sherwood, and Linda of Frisco, Texas; and nine grandchildren, Kendall, Logan, Landry, Landon, Easton, Zeke, Audrey, Knox, and Andrew. Visitation is this evening, Saturday, from 6-8 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.). Services will be Sunday, August 16, at 2 p.m. at the Mabelvale Church of Christ, officiated by Mr. Doug Wheeler, followed by interment at Oaklawn Cemetery in Searcy.
