Mary Ellen Day Jansky, 64, died on February 6, 2015 at Emory Hospital Midtown in Atlanta, Georgia. Mary Ellen was born on June 28, 1950 to the late Robert Galloway Partee and the late Grace Dodson Day in El Dorado, Arkansas and was raised in Camden by her mother and her beloved stepfather, the late D.P. "Perk" Day. She spent most of her life in Camden but graduated from Hall High School in Little Rock in 1968 after moving there her senior year. She enrolled the following year in the University of Arkansas where she became a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority. Mary Ellen was a mom to many, first dedicating her life to raising her own four children, and later becoming a house mother to the girls of Pi Beta Phi at the University of Arkansas and the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority house at Georgia Southern University. Her children will remember her silly sense of humor, her sense of fun and adventure, her unmovable faith, and her great love for her grandchildren. Mary Ellen is survived by her son, Tyler Rollins, his wife Shay and their two daughters, Brynn and Blair; daughter Whitney LaPointe, her husband Evan and their children, Henry and Finley Grace; daughter Katie Carmony and grandsons Gabriel and Kinsler; and son, Matthew Carmony, as well as her brother, Paul Day, uncles Earl "Bud" Dodson and Robert Dodson, and a host of nieces and cousins. She is preceded in death by her sister, Alice Day Rice, her parents, and her husband, John Jansky of Wausau, Wisconsin. A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Camden, Arkansas on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at 3 p.m. with Reverend Buddy Ratliff officiating. Reception will immediately follow at Postmasters Grill at 133 Washington Street. The family gratefully declines flowers but encourages donations to the Norbertines of Saint Norbert Abbey, 1016 N Broadway, De Pere, Wis., 54115.
