Vance Leonard Broadaway Jr.

Vance Leonard Broadaway Jr., 82, of Little Rock went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, February 11, 2015. He was born on August 8, 1932 to Vance Leonard Broadaway Sr. and Mildred Charlotte Keller Broadaway. He leaves cherished memories to his loving wife of 60 years, Donna Jo Criner Broadaway, his three daughters, and sons-in-law: Kelly Yoakam (Bob), Kristi Meiners (Steve), Kathy Hogan (Joe); seven grandchildren: Amy Yoakam Van Hooser (Mike), Ryan Yoakam (McKayla), Katie Meiners Enlow (Jason), Annie Meiners Brown (Joshua), Caroline Meiners, Joseph Hogan, Rebekah Jo Hogan; nine great-grandchildren and brother, Jacob P. Broadaway (Virginia). Vance served his faith and family throughout his life. He was a founding member of the Pleasant Valley Church of Christ, serving as a deacon for many years. He was a veteran of the Korean War. After being honorably discharged, he earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He co-owned a road construction company with his brother Jake. Vance developed specialty machinery and product for the use of road maintenance. Vance was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, American Society of Professional Engineers, and Tau Beta Pi. He was generous with his smile and never met a stranger. An example of Christ's love, his kind, gentle, giving spirit and his compassionate love will be greatly cherished and missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Searcy Children's Home, P.O. Box 1141, Searcy, Ark. 72145. Visitation: Saturday, 11:30-12:30 p.m. at Pleasant Valley Church of Christ, 10900 N. Rodney Parham Rd., Little Rock, Ark. Funeral: Saturday, Feb. 14, 12:30 p.m. at Pleasant Valley Church of Christ with burial at Roselawn Cemetery.
