Evangeline Leora Malott Evans, born September 27, 1928, triumphantly departed for Heaven on May 6, 2015. Those that knew and loved Vangie will miss her clear blue eyes and radiant smile. She lived a lifetime dedicated to her husband, Don, of 64 years, her five children, Nancy Meneley and Janet Canalichio of Little Rock; Teri Palmer of San Antonio; Karen Diehl of Arlington, and Dan Evans of Oklahoma City. Vangie leaves behind her admiration for God's handiwork as a legacy to her family including her sister Spot Holmes of Colorado Springs and to her 14 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Born in Port Arthur, Texas, Evangeline was the youngest daughter of parents Ray and Edna Malott who were officers dedicated to service in the Salvation Army. Vangie loved to garden, sew, decorate and redecorate as well as care for her family and puppy dogs. As she so longed to do, she is now free to run barefoot jubilantly through the gardens of Heaven with her redeemer and adoring husband. Memorial Services will be held Saturday May 9, 2015 at 10 a.m., at Forest Hills Funeral Home located at 10200 Hwy 5 North, Alexander, Arkansas 72002.
