Bertie Mae Knox, 87, of Cabot died Friday, Nov. 13, 2015. She was born Jan. 8, 1928 in Jacksonville to the late Frank and Elma Smith Diederich. Mrs. Knox was a member of First Baptist Church Cabot and active in the XYZ group. She enjoyed traveling with the church group as well as swimming and water aerobics every day at the Cabot or Jacksonville Community Center. She was an avid reader and quilter and a member of the Thimble Nimbles Quilting Guild and of the Line Dance Sisters at the Cabot Senior Center. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Knox was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Gilbert Knox Sr., son, Jack Gilbert Knox Jr., siblings; Paul Diederich, Erma House, Pauline Peters, Louise Morgan and Edward Diederich. Mrs. Knox is survived by her daughter, Patty Knox, grandchildren; Amy Renee Perkins and John Peyton Perkins III (Jocelyn), great-grandchild, Knox Peyton Perkins, brother, Ronald Diederich, sister, Geraldine Cook and countless nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Memorial gifts may be made to the Cabot Community Center; 508 N Lincoln St.; Cabot, Ark. 72023 or the Jacksonville Community Center; 5 Municipal Dr.; Jacksonville, Ark. 72076. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16, 2015 at First Baptist Church Cabot with Reverend Greg Hooper officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Cabot Funeral Home (501)843-5816. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
