William "Bill" Garnett Glenn, 29, of Jacksonville died September 27, 2015 after a long hard fought battle of renal cell carcinoma. He was born Sept 5, 1986 in Hot Springs. He was a 2005 graduate of North Little Rock High and played on the soccer team. In 2012 when his cancer returned he took this as an opportunity to return to college where he distinguished himself as a scholar and was recognized with a division award of Education and Social Sciences from his professors at the spring banquet of 2014 of ASU at Beebe. He achieved this while working full time at Lakewood Walgreens while battling cancer. Bill had a huge heart and made a positive impact on everyone he came in contact with while struggling with health issues. After battling issues with addiction, he became a mentor and motivational speaker to those who were also dealing with the same issues starting in early adulthood. A special thanks goes out to the dedicated staff of doctors and nurses at UAMS, especially the nurses on the 7th floor. Kristin Papin (RN) developed a very special relationship with Bill and spent many days outside of working hours using her angelic manner to comfort him. Survivors include his dad, Robert E. Glenn, Jr.; brother, Robert E. Glenn, III; sister, Shonna Glenn; grandfathers, Garnett J. Leonard and Robert E. Glenn, Sr.; and a nephew, Jack Morris Glenn. Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Theresa Leonard Glenn and grandmothers: Margaret Crutcher and Jenny Lynn Glenn. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 4, 2015 at Smith – North Little Rock Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, October 3, 2015 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, go do something nice for somebody. Online obituary at www.SmithFamilyCares.com.
