Eleanor Faye Bishop Sewell

Eleanor Faye Bishop Sewell, age 94, born on May 29, 1921, passed away April 3, 2016, which was her beloved husband's birthday. She was the daughter if J.M. and Mary Ann Bishop of Marysville, Arkansas. After graduating from college, she worked for Lion Oil Company and became the first female pipe liner. In 1941, Faye married her childhood sweetheart, Murray W. Sewell. Faye was extremely active in the Little Rock Women's Golf Association and made a hole in one when she was in her 50's. She is preceded in death by her husband, Murray, two brothers, two sisters, an infant granddaughter, an infant grandson, and grandson, John Hill. Faye is survived by a daughter, Neida Hill and husband Tom, a son, David Sewell, four grandchildren, Gabriel Sewell (Kalee), Anna Sewell, Caroline Sewell, and Lindsay Sewell. She also has three great-grandchildren, Savanna Johnson, Avalee Johnson, and Loralei Johnson. Faye was a lifelong Methodist and member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. The family greatly appreciates the loving care provided by her caregivers, Leola Scoggins, Junelle Dawson and Cindy Marruffo. Besides Faye's family, her friends and caregivers were her sunshine in her life. Faye's doctors, Lawrence Mendolshon and Bruce Sanderson kept her going far longer than anyone could expect. Our gratitude to them is unending. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 West 12th Street, Little Rock. Memorial services will be Wednesday, April 6, at 1 p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church, Rev. Richard Mitchell officiating. Burial will be private. Honorary pallbearers are Ronny McWilliams, Gabriel Sewell, Stefan Schay, Gary Bishop, Gary Sewell, Kris Adkins, and In Memory, John Hill. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 2223 Durwood, Little Rock, Ark. 72207, or the Shriner's Children's Hospital.
