Bessie Mae Pryor

Bessie Mae Ledbetter Pryor, 92, died peacefully Friday, April 8, 2016 in her home. A Searcy resident since 1944, she was born in Shelbyville, Tenn. to John T. & Bessie Mae Ledbetter, attended David Lipscomb College and Harding College, graduating in 1946. She married Joseph E. Pryor August 16, 1946, adopted three children, Beverly Jo Pryor (Clarksville, Tenn.), Joe Byron Pryor ("Jody" deceased), and Susan Pryor Hodges (Searcy) and had one granddaughter, Audrey Bess Hodges. Services will be held at College Church of Christ Monday at 2 p.m. with a reception to follow in the Family Room. Arrangements by Powell Funeral Home of Searcy. www.powellfuneralhome.net.
