Carlton Lee Garrett

Carlton Lee Garrett, 87, of El Dorado passed away Friday, April 8, 2016 at John R. Williamson Hospice House. He was born Sept. 3, 1928 to Eschen B. Garrett, Sr. and Lynetta Chambers Garrett. He was a retired Navy Veteran and was the owner of Garrett Furniture. Carlton was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church for 87 years where he was a vestry member, an acolyte and a repairman. He was also a member of the Rotary Club and past President. He was a Boy Scout for 75 years and served on the board and was an Eagle Scout. He was the president of the Arkansas Furniture Association. Preceding him in death are his parents; two brothers, Eschen B. Garrett Jr. and Dr. Alfred G. Garrett and one sister, Linda Juhl. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Martha Ann "Tweetie" Garrett; three children, David Garrett (Cyndi) of Dallas, Texas, Dr. Carol Ann Garrett of El Dorado, Ark. and Donald A. Garrett of Mt. View, Calif. and one sister Frances Wynn of Sulpher, La. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Wed., April 13, 2016 at St. Mary's Episcopal Church with Father Chuck Chapman and Father Bob Allen officiating. Cremation services were entrusted to Young's Funeral Directors. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 512 Champagnolle Road., El Dorado, Ark., Boy Scouts of America, 118 Peach St., El Dorado, AR 71730 or the John R.
