William A. Halter, 83, of North Little Rock passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2016. He was born February 3, 1933 in Conway, Arkansas to Amos and Mary Louise Schichtl Halter. Bill was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, friend, businessman and leader in his church. He chaired the Parish Council of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was active in the Knights of Columbus. He found joy watching his grandchildren's activities. He was an avid fan of the Arkansas Travelers. He is survived by his children William A. Halter, Jr. (Shanti) of Little Rock, Charles T. Halter (Allison) of Springfield, Missouri and Janet H. Hinck (Robert) of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Lauren and Julia Halter, of Little Rock, Thomas, JaneAnne and Helen Halter of Springfield, Missouri and Ashley, Allison, Robert and Natalie Hinck of Plano, Texas. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife of 34 years, Nancy Jane Younts Halter. His family thanks his caregivers and the countless friends who loved, supported and enriched his blessed life. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 901 N. A visiation will be at 5 p.m., Sunday, December 11th followed by a Rosary Service at 6:30 p.m. at Smith – Sherwood Funeral Home, 7700 Highway 107 (JFK Blvd.), Sherwood, Arkansas. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9 a.m., Monday, December 12th at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, North Little Rock. Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
