Frances "Evelyn" Pridmore Roberts

Frances "Evelyn" Pridmore Roberts, 84, of Ward died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016. She was born April 3, 1932 in Newport to the late Frank and Gracie Mae Metcalf Pridmore. Evelyn was a member of Surrounded Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She was a caring mother and grandmother. She taught her grandchildren to sing church hymns and felt blessed to be surrounded by them. Evelyn never spoke a cross word about anyone unless the conversation turned to politics. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Roberts; son, Calvin Roberts; and her siblings, Eugene Pridmore, Emma Lee Burlison, Emogene Jones, Barbara Ellis and Boyce Pridmore. Mrs. Roberts is survived by her children, Linda Burlison (Roy) of Little Rock, Brenda Carter of Ferriday, La., Donald Roberts of Ward, Phyllis Baldwin (Jerry) of Ward and Patty Castleberry (Randall) of Jacksonville; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home with Dr. Del Medlin officiating.
