Mariano S. Santiago, 79, of Little Rock was born in Tambobong, Bocaue, Bulacan, Philippines on December 8, 1936 and passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfonso and Emiliana Santiago, his brother, Felicisimo Santiago and a son, Marcelino Santiago. He immigrated to the US in 1975. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who was loved by all that knew him. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and enjoyed listening to original Pilipino music. He was the Barangay Captain of his hometown in the Philippines. He was a courier for 20 years for Emery Worldwide and also owned Asian Food & Gifts in Little Rock. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Little Rock. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Perlita and his children, Mariano Santiago Jr. (Letty), Mernardo (Rose), Monaliza S. Torricer (Rey) and six grandchildren all of the Philippines, Manolo Santiago and three grandchildren all of Singapore, Michael (Fides), Marvin (Krista) and four grandchildren all of Little Rock. Other survivors include his brother, Sixto Santiago and Cristina S. Buenaventura both of the Philippines and a host of extended family both in the United States and in the Philippines. Visitation will be at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth Funeral Home, 5800 West 12th Street in Little Rock on Sunday, January 3, 2015 at 5 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 6 p.m. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 4, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel followed by burial at Roselawn Memorial Park. www.griffinleggetthealeyroth.com.
