Daniel Wayne Rash

Danny "Daniel" Wayne Rash, 68, died Thursday, January 7, 2016, in Oklahoma City following a brief battle with cancer. He was born on December 8, 1947, in Hot Springs, Ark., to Albert Dale and Elsie Irene (Fikes). After graduating from Hot Springs High School in 1965, Dan earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Arkansas in 1978. He briefly worked for the architectural firm of Hailey-Powers in Fayetteville, Ark., before accepting a position in 1979 with AT&T as a Project Manager in the Corporate Real Estate, Planning, Design, and Construction department. In 1981, he was transferred from St. Louis, Mo., to Oklahoma City, where he continued working for AT&T as a Senior Project Manager until his retirement on December 31, 2015. Dan was an Emeritus member of the American Institute of Architects and registered with the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. He was active with the Boy Scouts of America for many years, specifically Edmond, Okla.'s Troop 1. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Elsie Rash, and his sister Louise Digby. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Linda Walker Rash of Edmond; one son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Laura Rash of Edmond; one daughter and daughter-in-law, Alison and Taja Caddy-Rash of Edmond; one brother and sister-in-law, Don and Karen Rash of Dumas, Ark.; one brother-in-law and his wife, Jim and Mary Walker of Athens, Ga.; mother-in-law, Helen Walker, of Edmond; one granddaughter, Claire Caddy-Rash, of Edmond; and many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his family. Visitation will be held at Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond, from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, January 11. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 12, at 2 p.m. at Matthews Funeral Home. Interment at Lowe Cemetery in Royal, Ark., to follow at a later date.
