Barbara Pownall Wied

Barbara Pownall Wied, 87, of Germantown, Tenn. died Jan. 8, 2016. She was born in Shreveport, La. to Mattie Lee and Joseph Ray Boone. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and husband Lt. Col. Raymond Pownall. She is survived by her husband Kenneth Wied, sister Mattie Lee Snell, son John Pownall (Jan), daughters Deborah Wied and Cheryl Massey (Mark), grandchildren Thomas Pownall (Ambre'), Andrew Pownall, Shaun Morrison (Sarah), Sheri McElroy, Kenneth Morrison, Breeden Morrison, and six great-grandchildren. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Oakleigh Dinner Club, a supporter of the Germantown Community Theater, and a bridge player at St. George's Bridge Club. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 19, 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Germantown with visitation to follow at St. George's Episcopal Church. Graveside service will be at Little Rock National Cemetery, Little Rock, Wednesday, January 20, 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
